How Annoying For Christmas Toys PPC Affiliates

November 21st, 2007 by admin

I started a ppc campaign three weeks ago for children’s boys toys to run through my site boytoys.co.uk and what a pain the ar*e it has been ever since.

The Entertainer / The Toy Shop or whatever they want to be called these days were still offering 10% affiliate commission until the 16/17th of this month, reduced to 7% now and with affiliatewindow’s great bi monthly payment system to keep on top of the cashflow I jumped at the chance of promoting their best selling products & latest boys toys and promoting them quite heavily on my boy toys site.

Well its been a yo-yo up and down knightmare regarding stock levels with them, the main couple of products that have been converting well (yes you heard that right I am going to tell you) are the transformers movie ultimate bumblebee and the transformers movie leader optimus prime, with The Entertainer having a very competitive price of £64.95 on the bumblebee compared to the other online toy companies i.e. Toys R Us & Woolworths prices of £79.99 each.

The problem is the stock levels have been changing 3 or 4 times a day, one minute it’s in stock the next it’s not and I have been constantly pausing google ad groups and restarting them. I agree checking your Adwords campaigns at least this many time a day is good business sense, but stock levels on a particular merchant’s product?

I will continue to promote these toy products as they convert well if I can get the change.
